Product Care Guide

Looking after your garment

This guide covers the fabric itself. For the stitching, see our Embroidery Care Instructions.

Cotton t-shirts

  • Machine wash cold, inside out, with similar colours.
  • Avoid bleach and harsh detergents.
  • Tumble-dry low or air-dry — high heat is the main cause of shrinkage.
  • Wash before first wear to settle the fabric.

Heavyweight and oversized tees

  • Heavier cotton holds its shape well but takes longer to dry.
  • Air-dry flat where possible to keep the structured drape.
  • Don't hang while soaking wet — the weight can stretch the shoulders.

Polo shirts

  • Wash cold, gentle cycle.
  • Hang to dry to keep the collar crisp.
  • Iron the collar and placket from the reverse side.

Hoodies and sweatshirts

  • Wash inside out on a cold, gentle cycle.
  • Don't wring the cuffs or waistband — it loosens the ribbing.
  • Dry flat to hold the shape.

Caps

  • Hand-wash only, using cool water and mild soap.
  • Never machine wash or tumble-dry — the shape won't recover.
  • Air-dry on a rounded object so the crown keeps its form.

Towels and linen

  • Wash before first use to boost absorbency.
  • Skip fabric softener — it coats fibres and reduces absorbency.
  • Tumble-dry medium to keep the pile soft.

General tips

  • Always check the care label sewn into your garment — it takes priority over general advice.
  • Treat stains promptly, but blot rather than rub, especially near stitching.
  • Don't dry-clean embroidered items unless the label specifically allows it.
  • Store clean — body oils and residue can set into fabric over time.
